Kwan Yin Statue

Reproduction of a Chinese sculpture, 10th-11th century. 9.25" tall, Ganges clay statue and resin, handpainted. Chinese Goddess of Mercy and most beloved of Buddhist deities. Radiating serenity, she relieves suffering, heals, and protects those in need. Seated upon a weathered stone from which healing waters pour, this statue depicts the goddess in royal ease posture, ready to rise and help those in need. Kuan-Yin possesses the poise we aspire to while immersed in our daily round. Her somewhat androgynous features emphasize the Tao of yin and yang, the dance of opposites in balance, which creates inner peace.
