The Rune of the womb is the Rune of hidden, mysterious places and times. It is the Rune of female creativity, fertility, and the source of life. Just as the womb is the place where new life begins, this is the Rune of new beginnings. A new beginning can be an initiation, the birth of a child, the start of a new relationship or career, or anything that calls you to let go of what came before. And, just as life begins in secret, out of sight, so this Rune also speaks of mysteries of any kind. Above all, it speaks of the spiritual mysteries. Initiation into the realms of awareness, magic, unconditional love, psychic perception, and the transformation of one’s consciousness are like entries to the womb. There, all that has come before means nothing, and yet one is not ready to crawl naked into the world. For the initiate, like the child in the womb, the only thing to do is relax and wait. This Rune speaks of a time of growth, of being nurtured, and of patience. Eventually, the initiate learns, and eventually, the child is born.
